Board of DirectorsOur governing board provides guidance to our Chief Executive Officer and
is made up of key community leaders. They give of their time and talent so our community can have the world-class health care
it expects and deserves. Additionally, many community members contribute their talents by providing oversight and leadership
to certain committees within Modoc Medical Center's administrative functions. The Last Frontier
Healthcare District dba Modoc Medical Center Board of Directors meets the first and third Wednesday of the month at the Alturas
City Hall.
Board Chairman Dick Steyer 530-233-7022 Term expires 12/2014 Business owner, Alturas, CA- Dick is
a native Southern Californian who graduated from the University of California, Berkely in 1954. He moved to Alturas
in 1981 as a District Manager for Citizens Utilities (Frontier). He is married to Joanne, is an Alturas homeowner
and is semi-retired owning current and former businesses in Alturas. Civic involvments include: Treasurer
of Save Our Hospital committee, past Mayor of Alturas, past president of the Alturas Chamber of Commerce and the
Alturas Rotary Club.

Vice Chair Jim Cavasso 530-233-7022 Term Expires 12/2012
Business owner, Alturas, CA- Jim's career as a
business owner began in 2004. Over the past 7 years, his business experience has grown with the purchase of Modoc Steel
and Supply, Alturas Subway and the development of a trucking service. For nearly 20 years he has been an active member
of the Alturas community providing service to citizens and local area businesses. Cavasso is currently a member of Alturas
Rotary, Alturas Chamber of Commerce, Alliance for Workforce Development, U.S. Service Forest Resource Advisory Committee,
Monday Night Group, Modoc Economic Development Commission, and the Vitality Steering Group. Cavasso is married to Elizabeth
and has two children, Justin and Jamie. Jim graduated from Modoc High School.

Treasurer Leta Bethel 530-233-7022 Term Expires 12/2014
Business owner, Alturas, CA- From the
age of 5 years old, I was raised in Fall River Mills, Shasta County, and I attended
both the Elementary and the High School there. I married Roland Bethel and we moved to Herlong, CA where Roland managed
of a propane company and I was the bookkeeper for 11 years. During this time, we were blessed with our two sons,
Wayne and Randy. In 1965 we moved to Alturas, Modoc County, to start our own business- Bethel's Propane.
Roland passed away in 1978, but my youngest son Randy and I continued to run the business until just recently when the the
business was sold after 45 years of ownership.

Secretary James Wills 530-233-7022 Term Expires 12/2014 Retired
California Highway Patrol (CHP) Lieutenant Commander, Alturas CA- James was raised in Tehama County, in Red Bluff, CA. Has
been in public service over 36 years as a Red Bluff City Police Officer, CHP Officer, CHP Sergeant and CHP Lieutenant Commander.
He graduated from the University of LaVerne, in Southern California with a B.A. Degree Public Administration, from a Certificate
Program from the University of Santa Barbara in Criminology and from Shasta Junior College in Redding CA, with an A.A. Degree
in Criminal Justice. He has lived in Modoc County for the last 6 years. He is very involved in local government activities.
Was a member of the Modoc County Hospital Advisory Committee, was Co-Chairperson for the Save Our Hospital Committee, is involved
with the Monday Night Group, is a Board Member Vice President of the Christian Live Assembly Church and was President
of the Alturas Rotary Club. James and his wife Linda have three sons which have blessed us with three grandsons and three
granddaughters.

Board Member Dennis Tate 530-233-7022 Term Expires 12/2012
Business owner, Alturas, CA- Dennis has lived
and worked in the Alturas area for the past 32 years. He has owned and operated several businesses in the area.
Current employment includes Tate Realty, Triad Properties, Swift Mini Storage, and Likely Place Golf Course and Resort.
He has been a member of the Modoc County Sheriff's Possee, Alturas City Fire Department, Modoc County Chamber of Commerce,
Modoc County Fish and Game Commission, and the Modoc Tribe Ride. He has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Ag Business.
Dennis and his wife Kelle raised two daughters in Alturas and currently have one grandson.
